Maggy Aston’s mixed-media prints and paintings explore connections between nature, science, and the decorative arts. She teaches drawing and biological illustration at Cal U, where she enjoys conducting classes outside on campus and collaborating with students on large-scale mural projects. In all of her courses, she encourages students to draw directly from observation. She lives on the banks of the Monongahela River in rural Greene County, where her art-making extends into landscaping and garden projects. She spends her summers painting outdoors on the beaches and marshes of Assateague and Chincoteague Islands, on the coast of Virginia.
